5. Upcycled Pallet Garden Tool Rack

A reclaimed wooden pallet can become a rugged, rustic garden tool rack in an afternoon. Cut the pallet to the width you need, sand rough edges, and seal it with an outdoor stain or paint. Mount it vertically on a shed wall, then add hooks between the slats for hand tools, gloves, and small buckets. The pallet’s horizontal boards create natural shelves for pots, twine, and plant food. You can also attach metal loops to hold long-handled tools if the pallet is wide enough. This upcycled project is inexpensive and keeps materials out of the landfill. Because pallet wood is often rough, use screws rather than nails for heavy loads. Place the rack near your potting bench so you can reach pruners, ties, and labels without stepping away. It is a sustainable, character-rich addition to your shed tool storage.
